Finally Feels Like Spring

Early Egg Hunt
We visited Claudine's church to participate in their Easter holiday program and egg hunt. It was a rocky start as expected. I had a very upset Victoria on my lap for the first part of the program. She clung to me through the songs and the Easter story. She started to relax with the last song. Then she wanted to do the craft. Should have figured that would pique her interest. She was more herself, though still reticent, by the time we finished the cross pin. She actually went with Aunt Claudine to get a coloring book and chose her favorite color of crayon when offered. That was a relief. Before we had a chance to start coloring in the coloring book, the pastor announced the egg hunt. Victoria was all ready for that. They were going to do it outside. It was still chilly and definitely windy but still whole loads of fun to go searching for the eggs. I wish I'd had my camera for it but it seemed more important just to be there for Victoria. We did manage to stop her around 10 eggs, but then there was a whole nother section to search so we let her go. She ended up with 26 eggs. [We counted them later.] The pictures weren't from the church. I'd forgotten my camera and left it in the car. There wasn't time to go get it. But I got plenty of pictures later as Victoria counted her haul and examined her loot. And then we had to do more egg hunts at Aunt Claudine's house. Toys and Water

You didn’t want to go shopping with your Dad this morning. You threw quite a temper tantrum, run up to your bedroom to huddle in your bed. It didn’t take long for that to wear off. And you were allowed out of your room if you agreed to go shopping. So with toys in hand, off to the grocery store you went. Guess it wasn’t such a bad thing because you came home with squirt toys. Oh boy, were they a hit. We had to try them out in a variety of buckets and situations. You tried squirting Mommy... of course you hadn’t left the ball in the water long enough to fill it up. I wasn’t much in danger of getting wet. Then there were the flowers that you wanted to water. That turned out marginally well since Mommy put the balls in and got them to soak up water. I guess I should say that we had fun with the squirt toys today. Labels: everyday, spring

Rain, Rain... Stay Awhile and Play
Victoria found the spring rain to be fun. We came home from work and school. She couldn't wait to get outside with her umbrella. She had so much fun with it. And, well, I had fun with the camera again. Still learning the various settings on it, but I'm getting better at switching back and forth and changing lenses. Sprinklers
An unseasonable warm spring day. Jeff had seeded the front lawn a week or so ago and it needed watering. And, letting Victoria take advantage. We were all at home having taken Victoria to her follow up doctor's appointment with the ENTs. Everything went well. Her tubes are in place. Her hearing checked out. We got out the new swimsuits and let Victoria choose. Dug around in the closets to find the beach towels. We were all set for some water fun. And, boy, was it fun. How Does Your Garden Grow?
 
I love the picture on the left. It's one of my favorites recently. The colors are just so bright and cheerful.
You'll see Victoria on the right with a bucket of stones next to her. She has so much fun with them. Who knew? She takes the stones out of the bucket and makes rings around the flowers. Then she takes the stones away and puts them back in the bucket. We repeat this operation for various flowers on different nights. So far none of the flowers have suffered from being ringed by Victoria.

Signs of Spring
 
Maybe the groundhog was right. It was a lovely day. A bit breezy for me. Victoria convinced her Daddy to open up the sandbox. She spent most of her time there shuffling the sand back and forth. It took quite a bit of coaxing to get her inside for lunch.
